Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at DMT in Joure, you develop smart and reliable software for our biogas, biomethane, and LCO₂ installations. You play an important role in project realisation: from technical design and implementation of control and application software to testing (FAT/SAT) and supporting the final commissioning of installations worldwide.

You work closely with engineers, project managers, and technical specialists to keep our sustainable systems running efficiently and safely. Two years ago, DMT strategically established its own software department and is looking for colleagues who want to help build it further.
You contribute ideas on new functionalities, solve technical challenges, and help develop a modern software architecture.

Responsibilities

Programming, testing, and optimising PLC software (Siemens)
Configuring and maintaining system architecture
Preparing and executing FAT and SAT procedures
Actively contributing to the start-up and commissioning of installations worldwide
Identifying, analysing, and resolving technical deviations
Working in accordance with DMT's quality and safety guidelines
Collaborating with other engineers and departments to successfully deliver projects

Functie-eisen en competenties

MBO or HBO degree in Measurement & Control Technology, Control Engineering, Industrial Automation, or equivalent
Experience in a similar role as a PLC programmer
Background in the biogas industry or comparable sectors is a plus
Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens), system architecture, FAT & SAT, control and safeguarding narratives
Knowledge of electrical engineering is a plus
Familiar with the latest industry standards
Proficiency in Dutch and English (verbal and written)

Your responsibilities

As a PLC Software Engineer, you bring experience and knowledge in PLC programming and preferably also electrical engineering. Together with your team, you ensure that installations, including biogas upgrading systems and LCO₂ installations, are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget, for DMT and our clients. Your role is primarily office-based with occasional on-site visits. You are also able to identify and resolve the root causes of deviations and know when to escalate issues in a timely manner.
