The role of a PLC Software engineer

As a PLC Software Engineer you will have experience and knowledge of PLC programming and preferably electrical engineering. You will do all this based on DMT’s quality principles and procedures and report any deviations to the CTO. Together with the rest of the team, you will do everything necessary to deliver a product that is as good as possible for DMT and the customer, on time and on budget. You will play an active role in the commissioning and start-up of our systems. This can be anywhere in the world, both in Europe and in North America and Canada. You will also be able to identify and resolve the causes of deviations and escalate problem situations at the right time.

Tasks & Responsibilities of a PLC Software Engineer

Implement new features and enhancements to our software products
Provide software support to service and commissioning engineers
Participate in project implementation teams
Responsible for PLC code testing (functional and non-functional)
Co-responsible for PLC software related engineering activities
Sparring partner for other engineering disciplines regarding PLC software
Contribute to P&ID reviews and HAZOP sessions

Qualifications & background of a PLC Software Engineer

At least a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Automation or similar
Knowledge and experience of PLC (Siemens & Allen Bradley), SCADA, System Architecture, FAT & SAT procedures, control & safety narratives
Minimum of 1-5 years' experience as a PLC programmer
Knowledge of current industry standards, work experience in the biogas industry or comparable industries is a plus
Electrical engineering knowledge and experience is an advantage
Willing and able to travel up to 25% of time
Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English (written and spoken)
